Grades are a loose approximation of which group a student should be placed in. To move within these groups, just speak with your teacher. Music reading skills and voice study experience are the predominant measures for placement.
Our voice classes offer opportunities for students to sing for one another in a supportive environment, get valuable feedback, and practice close-harmony performance skills. Classes and choirs are optional, but an important part of a singer's experience. Students are strongly encouraged, even expected, to fully participate in their school choirs.
Students should plan to remain in study through their school musical season. Students are expected to attend lessons through the rehearsal process until the cast is conducting full run-throughs. As the production reaches the stage in which the cast is conducting full run-throughs, then on through tech week, and until the production is complete, lessons should be rescheduled ahead of time according to the production calendar.
